Gibbon Fire Department is 100% volunteer with an average of 32 members serving both City of Gibbon and rural Gibbon. The service area is approximately 200 square miles. Members are trained at various levels for firefighting with some members EMT trained. Fire meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at 7:00p.m. and training is the third Monday of every month. The department is equipped with 2 emergency units, 1 rescue truck, 2 pumper trucks, 2 tankers, 1 command trailer, 1 gator, and 3 quick attach grass rigs.
Gibbon also has an active Firefighter Auxiliary that actively supports the department.
