Notice of Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Gibbon City Hall.

City Wide Clean Up has been scheduled for September 27, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tree branches, grass, leaves, carpet, furniture, appliances, and other extra trash items not normally placed in a dumpster can be taken to the landfill. Batteries are accepted however NO paint, shingles, or tires will be accepted. Appliances such as refrigerators and freezers must have Freon extracted or they will not be accepted.

CITY STAFF WILL NOT HELP UNLOAD ITEMS. There will be designated places for certain items, so please have items sorted.

Utility crews will be flushing fire hydrants through the remainder of this week as part of our routine maintenance program. You may notice temporary discoloration or reduced water pressure during this process — this is normal and should clear up quickly.

Exciting news from Gibbon Public Library! At the July meeting, the GPL Foundation voted to fund the replacement of the original carpeting (Circa 1999 - We have definitely gotten our money's worth out of it!) in our Community Room with commercial grade luxury vinyl flooring! This upgrade will make such a huge difference in our day-to-day operations as well as give us a broader range of programming options. CMH Interiors of Kearney will be installing the flooring on August 11th and 12th. We will be closed for these two days to accommodate the install as well as to do some deep cleaning and refreshing of the library after a very busy summer. The community room will also be getting a fresh coat of paint July 21st and 22nd.

We had some very special visitors yesterday at Gibbon City Hall and the Gibbon Community Center! Mrs. Weismann and Mrs. Montanez's 3rd grade classes stopped by for a tour after learning about how their local government works. The students got to meet Mayor Stall and City Administrator Smallcomb, ask some great questions, and see firsthand how their city operates. It was a fun and memorable experience for all of us—we hope the kids learned a little something along the way, too! Thanks for spending part of your day with us, future leaders of Gibbon!
