The City of Gibbon is seeking an experienced, organized, and community-focused individual to serve as City Clerk. This position performs a wide variety of administrative, financial, and record-keeping duties that are essential to the operation of city government. The City Clerk serves as the custodian of official city records, prepares and maintains minutes of City Council meetings, oversees elections and licensing, processes permits, and manages billing, payroll, and human resources functions.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced municipal environment. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and Excel), and the ability to work effectively with elected officials, staff, and the public.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field preferred. At least three years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience—preferably in a municipal or governmental setting—is desired.

Maintenance/Utility Position
Job description:
The CITY OF GIBBON seeks qualified candidates for their Utility/ Maintenance Worker position. Applicants need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be willing to work well with our team. A successful candidate must live within a reasonable distance from City limits. Experience with public utilities and maintenance preferred, however, the City will train the right person. Duties for this position include testing, repair and maintenance of the municipal streets, water and sewer systems. Other duties include snow removal, occasional heavy lifting, light construction, heavy equipment operation, general labor and upkeep of City owned properties and equipment. The hourly rate ranges between $17.00 and $20.00 depending on qualifications, experience and motivation.
