🌸 Congratulations to Steve & Jan Jurgens — the Gibbon Beautification Foundation Yard of the Month winners!

If you’ve driven into Gibbon from the south side of the overpass, chances are you’ve noticed Steve and Jan’s beautiful property. It’s one of those yards that catches your eye and helps make a great first impression for both our residents and visitors coming into Gibbon.

The Gibbon Beautification Foundation is proud to recognize Art Hartman as July’s Yard of the Month recipient!

If you've driven by Art's home at the corner of 7th Street and West Avenue, you've likely admired the beautifully maintained lawn, mature shade trees, peaceful gazebo, and meticulously cared for landscaping. It's a property that reflects years of pride, hard work, and care.

While Art continues to keep the property looking beautiful, this yard also stands as a tribute to his late wife, Helen, who truly enjoyed working in their yard and took great pride in making it a welcoming place for family, friends, and neighbors. Her love for gardening and the outdoors is still evident throughout the property today.

The Yard of the Month program is a wonderful reminder of the positive impact residents have on our community. Beautiful homes and landscapes don't just improve curb appeal—they create a welcoming atmosphere, inspire neighborhood pride, and make Gibbon an even better place to call home.

Congratulations, Art, on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for continuing to care for your property and for preserving a yard that reflects the love and dedication that both you and Helen shared for your home.

🌼 Know someone whose yard deserves recognition? Keep taking pride in your property—you maybe the next “Yard of the Month!”

⚠️ E-SCOOTER, E-BIKE & MOTORIZED BIKE SAFETY REMINDER ⚠️

The City of Gibbon has recently received concerns regarding the operation of e-scooters, e-bikes, and motorized bikes within our community.

As these devices become more common, we want to remind riders and parents of the importance of operating them safely and respectfully. Our goal is to keep Gibbon's streets, sidewalks, parks, and public spaces safe for everyone.

Please remember:
🪖 Wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear.
🚸 Watch for vehicles, pedestrians, and other hazards.
🚦 Obey all traffic laws, signs, and signals.
🚶 Yield to pedestrians on sidewalks and crosswalks.
🌳 The City is asking riders to help keep e-scooters, e-bikes, and motorized bikes out of City parks, including Davis

Park, Rosen Park, athletic fields, trails, playgrounds, and other park facilities. This helps create a safer environment for families, children, and other park users.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to take a few minutes to discuss safe riding practices with their children and help ensure these devices are operated responsibly.

Thank you for helping keep Gibbon safe and making our community a great place to call home.
