The Gibbon Area Communities for Kids (C4K) team is looking for community input to better understand local early childhood care and education needs—and to gauge how important access to these services is for our community’s growth and development.
We invite anyone who lives, works, or represents an employer—such as a business or school—in the Gibbon area (Gibbon area is defined as the City of Gibbon and a 10 mile radius around Gibbon) to complete this survey, whether or not you have young children. It should take about 3–5 minutes to finish. Your responses will help identify key needs and guide future solutions for our community.
At the end of the survey, you’ll have the option to enter your contact information for a chance to win one of four (4) gift cards to a local Gibbon business worth $25.00.
Thank you for your time and input—together, we can strengthen our community!
PLEASE SHARE with your Gibbon Area Friends.

ACE is the only community-owned natural gas supplier in the program and has been serving as a competing supplier for 28 years. It was created by Nebraska communities to help ensure competition and give customers a voice.
One unique aspect of ACE is that it returns funds back to its member communities. In Gibbon, that has meant more than $53,000 going toward local community betterment projects over time.
ACE also offers a range of pricing options and encourages customers to review and choose what works best for them. If you’re interested, you can check current pricing during the selection period at www.ACEenergy.org or by calling (800) 454-4759.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Date: March 25, 2026
The City of Gibbon public water system is issuing this Boil Water Advisory due to a loss of pressure in the distribution system on 3/25/26 at 4:15pm. This situation is considered a potential for microbial contamination.
What should I do?
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute, then allow it to cool before use.
Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, food preparation, and making ice.
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
What happened?
On March 25, 2026, the water system experienced a loss of pressure below 20 psi in parts of the distribution system. When water pressure drops below acceptable levels, there is an increased risk that contaminants may enter the system through backflow or infiltration.
What is being done?
The City of Gibbon is restoring and maintaining adequate system pressure, flushing and disinfecting affected areas of the system, and collecting bacteriological samples in accordance with NDWEE requirements. The advisory will remain in effect until test results confirm that the water is safe to drink.
What are the potential health effects?
Microbial contaminants in drinking water can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, cramps, and headaches. Infants, young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are at greater risk. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
When will this be resolved?
This advisory will remain in place until system pressure is fully restored, required disinfection is completed, and two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological sample results are received. You will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
